About
I got bit by the social change bug at 16. This passion has taken me to distant lands and back home again, and from volunteer organizations to non-profits to unions to academia. My turbulent 20′s are finally behind me and I’m mostly settled in my path now, but I still think a lot about the best ways to make change in the world, and how to sustain these efforts over the long haul.
This site is a place to reflect on and share ideas about working for social change; the serious, the humorous, the practical. It’s also a place to geek out on some of the particular ways I try to make a difference: teaching, research, writing, taking photos, board membership and consulting. I hope this will be a place to incubate ideas that turn into articles, books, exhibits and other creative projects, as well as to meet fellow travelers along the way. Enjoy!
